Aneurysm - Endovascular Surgery

Endovascular surgery (or "coiling") is a way of fixing aneurysms by passing a thin tube (catheter) up to the brain and treating the aneurysm from within. This may involve coils, stents, or cages that prevent blood from escaping.

This kind of procedure is often done by placing the catheter in a blood vessel at the top of the leg or the wrist. There are many different devices and strategies used for treatment.

Aneurysms that cannot be treated this way can usually be treated with microsurgery.
